The health conditions of Pope Francis , at the beginning of his fourth week at the Policlinico Gemelli for bilateral pneumonia , are in " gradual, slight improvement ". This is what the doctors report, adding that, for the first time, they speak of a "good response to therapy". However, the prognosis for the Pontiff remains reserved . "The clinical conditions of the Holy Father in recent days have remained stable and, consequently, testify to a good response to therapy", they say in fact in the medical bulletin released this evening, two days after the previous one, underlining that "therefore, a gradual, slight improvement is recorded".
Francis "has always remained afebrile ", without fever. Furthermore, "gas exchanges have improved; blood tests and blood counts are confirmed to be stable". The doctors, "in order to record these initial improvements in the coming days, prudentially maintain the prognosis still reserved". This morning , in the meantime, the Pontiff, "after receiving the Eucharist, gathered in prayer inside the Chapel of the private apartment , while in the afternoon he alternated rest with work activities", the Vatican Press Office reports, in support of the clinical update.
As for tomorrow's Angelus, "the method of the past few weeks is confirmed", it will be released only in written form , while regarding participation in the Lenten spiritual exercises starting tomorrow, "the Pope will certainly do them, but "in communion of prayer" with the Curia". And it is not yet certain that tomorrow there will be a new medical bulletin in writing: there will be updates from the Press Office.
