Yesterday, students at the Cesare Battisti Technical Institute in Bolzano experienced a rather troubled morning. According to local newspapers, around 11 a.m., about thirty students began experiencing respiratory problems and sore throats following the use of pepper spray in one of the classrooms on the same floor.
According to initial reports, the culprit was a student who, taking advantage of the fact that the classrooms were empty for recess, sprayed the fire with the intent of avoiding a class test . Upon returning from recess, the students began experiencing respiratory problems, so much so that the Bolzano firefighters had to intervene, who secured the school premises.
The substance spread rapidly, and several students, who complained of burning throats, were examined on-site by Red Cross paramedics. Fortunately, none of the thirty students involved needed to be taken to the emergency room . The Carabinieri also arrived on the scene to collect statements from students and teachers. At this time, the perpetrator has not yet been identified.
