The web is still an important source of trade and supply of drugs for human use, very often unauthorized, which allegedly boast properties capable of preventing and treating various diseases, including Covid-19. In agreement with the Ministry of Health, the Nas of the carabinieri continues the checks and investigations and in the context of one of these operations, sales offers have been identified relating to medicines containing active ingredients subject to particular restrictions of use and specific indications of clinical or experimental use in relation to SARS-COV-2 infection. In fact, they contained ivermectin for which Ema issued a note in which it is recommended not to use this active ingredient for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19 outside of clinical studies; in others, the antibiotic azithromycin, the anti-inflammatory colchicine, the antivirals lopinavir / ritonavir and the antimalarial hydroxychloroquine were present.

The military carried out 30 measures to prevent access from the national territory for as many sites located on foreign servers with undetectable managers.

The police reiterate the call to citizens "to be wary of online offers of unauthorized or dubious medicines and products", and reminded that "the online sale of prescription drugs is absolutely forbidden".
