Online child pornography, an arrest in Cagliari: a prelate also involved

The State Police is engaged throughout Italy, with the coordination of the Postal Police Service and Cyber Security, in the execution of 33 search warrants delegated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Turin as part of the operation to combat online child pornography "La Croix".
Following the investigative activities launched by the Turin Cyber Security Operations Center, which have also been carried out undercover for over 6 months, numerous individuals have been identified who are dedicated to the dissemination and publicity of material created through the exploitation of minors online.
Three people were arrested, residents of Cagliari, Milan and Benevento. Among them a prelate and a member of the police force. In addition, 29 other people were reported.
The investigation - explains a note from the State Police - "focused on the activity of a user who, in any case interested in procuring child pornography material, published information and computer traces in restricted groups obtained through interaction with other virtual identities, in fact carrying out the unlikely role of "executioner". The users involved in the exchange of child pornography material, through technical measures aimed at maintaining anonymity, had access to illicit content of various kinds, sometimes even depicting real sexual violence , and "chatted" very discreetly to test the reciprocity of interest in the themes of sexual abuse, using "coded" languages".
The suspects have different ages, working conditions, geographical locations: professionals, workers, students. The personal, local and computer system searches, issued by the District Attorney's Office of Turin, led to the seizure of cell phones, tablets, hard disks, pen drives, computers and email accounts and social profiles.
