"Abhorrent" sexual practices, violence with the "use of hardware tools, threats and beatings with a nail-studded stick, constant humiliation in front of other people, and years of harassment in the workplace" : this is the horror described in the courtroom in Tempio Pausania, during a distressing criminal hearing in the case of a woman who was abused as a child.
The indictment filed by prosecutor Sara Martino describes a horrific story (still to be proven). The events occurred from 2004 to 2018 on the Italian peninsula, then in Golfo Aranci and Olbia . The victim was also allegedly forced into prostitution .
Today, the Tempio Pausania prosecutor's office's consultant, psychiatrist Paolo Milia, was interviewed by the judges. He assessed the girl's condition after the extremely serious, repeated abuse. The specialist described "terrifying violence," referring to the depths of savagery the woman allegedly experienced. According to the documents, the victim suffered her first sexual abuse at the age of eight . She was subsequently entrusted to a man who was supposed to help her (and initially did so), but then, according to prosecutor Martino, became her tormentor. From adolescence to adulthood and beyond, according to the investigation, the victim's life was a sequence of unspeakable violence. The alleged abuser allegedly forced the young woman into prostitution, and three men who allegedly met the girl are also on trial . Criminal lawyer Giampaolo Murrighile, representing the alleged perpetrator of the abuse, has requested a psychiatric evaluation for his client.
