New shipwreck in Lampedusa, after the one that occurred on Sunday which claimed the life of a two-year-old girl and left eight missing.

A small boat sank about 28 miles from the coast. A 26-year-old woman from Ivory Coast has died. Forty-six surviving migrants were recovered by the Guardia di Finanza soldiers.

It was during the transfer phase, from the small boat to the Guardia di Finanza patrol boat, that the metal cart suddenly gave way and sank. All 47 migrants, originally from Guinea, Mali and Ivory Coast, who were on board ended up at sea.

The young woman remained in the water for a few minutes, but when she was recovered she was already lifeless. Any attempt to resuscitate her was useless.

The small boat, according to what was reported to the financiers, left Sfax in Tunisia on Monday evening.
