He asked for money in exchange for the therapies carried out on a person "with frailty". For this reason, a surgeon on duty at 118 of the Asl Avezzano-Sulmona-L'Aquila, LP, was arrested in flagrant for extortion by the Carabinieri of the Nas of Pescara.

The investigations started after the complaint presented by the victim, who during an emergency visit to the Emergency Department of the Sulmona Hospital, had received requests for large sums of money for the administration, at home, of adjuvant therapies from Switzerland.

The military stationed where the victim and doctor had an appointment for the delivery of the sum: 230 euros. LP had pocketed the money without hesitation and, before he inoculated the patient - intravenously - the drug he had brought with him - they intervened. It should be emphasized that the injection was not part of a therapeutic plan for the woman who was facing life-saving treatments and using a medical device that was out of validity.

The doctor is accused of the crime of extortion committed against the patient, since, abusing his capacity as a public official and taking advantage of the victim's condition of extreme fragility, deriving from the serious pathologies he suffers from, he demanded sums of money, to be paid to each administration, in exchange for a likely medicinal specialty, while knowing the delicate conditions of the woman. Among the drugs in its availability, bottles were found bearing the indication "for use reserved for hospitals" whose real origin is being ascertained.
