On the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Moby Prince ferry massacre, which took place in the port of Livorno on 10 April 1991, the “Documenta22” initiative, a public “call” for writing, will be launched. The collective was born from the Collateral Effect Association and develops public initiatives for the commemoration of the victims, in constant dialogue and collaboration with the 140 Family Associations of the Moby Prince Victims and the April 10 - Moby Prince Family Victims Association.

This year's action consists in a convocation of participatory writing of 140 postcards to keep alive the memory of the 140 victims of the Moby Prince: for this reason citizens are invited to write a message, a handwritten text suitable for the space of a postcard, addressed to one of the people who lost their life that night: through the simple process of joining the initiative, one of the 140 names will be assigned to the participants.

"With our messages - they explain from Documenta - we want to keep alive the memory of all the people who died in the massacre and also keep alive the hope of one day reaching the truth. The sense of action is to accompany them on a journey symbolic the victims who failed to reach their destination and to symbolically unite the ports of Livorno and Olbia, both part of a chapter of history that has not yet found justice after 31 years ".

The public call to participate in Documenta22 expires on March 31, the postcards will then be sent to the Culture Office of the Municipality of Olbia on April 10, 2022, immediately after the ceremony that usually takes place at the Andana degli Anelli, in Livorno.
