Tragedy at sea: he saves two swimmers in difficulty and drowns

Tragedy in Lido Estensi, on the Ferrara coast. A young man, twenty years old, of Maghreb origin, died after trying to rescue two people in difficulty at sea.

The victim – in the canal between Lido Estensi and Spina – was on a pedal boat with friends shortly before 6 pm when he saw two swimmers in difficulty. According to initial reconstructions, he warned the lifeguard and then did not hesitate to dive in to help .

The two were rescued but the 20-year-old drowned. Brought back to the shore, resuscitation maneuvers were attempted but the boy was dead . Even the arrival of the 118 helicopter from Ravenna was useless.
