Stabbed to death in the street by her ex-husband, in front of dozens of passers-by. The femicide yesterday evening in Tolentino (Macerata) in the central Viale Benadduci.

According to witnesses, the man allegedly stabbed his ex-wife without warning until she fell to the pavement. Then he kicked her when she was already on the ground . Then he sat down on a bench to look at the body. When help arrived, there was nothing more that could be done for the woman, Gentiana Hudhra, 45, of Albanian origin. The 55-year-old, also originally from Albania, was still on the bench, waiting for the police.

The man was taken to the barracks to be questioned by the public prosecutor on duty at the Macerata Prosecutor's Office. According to an initial reconstruction, the 55-year-old arrived on the scene on a scooter and then stabbed his wife, from whom he had been separated for three years. The former couple has two children, aged 21 and 23.

The man is said to suffer from psychiatric problems but there have been no complaints of mistreatment or stalking pending. The street has been cordoned off to allow for the surveys, the investigations are ongoing.
