There was no explosive on board the Moby Prince when, on the night of 10 April 1991 , in the harbor of Livorno , the ferry collided with the oil tanker Agip Abruzzo . A tragedy in which 140 of the 141 people died - 26 Sardinians - who were on board the ferry, including passengers and crew members.

This was established by the conclusive report of the Ris expert who was able to analyze the finds with innovative technologies not yet available in 1991, coming to the conclusion that the traces found on the finds at the time of the accident by the expert Alessandro Massari, were caused by "external contamination "for" bad conservation ".

A press conference is scheduled for tomorrow at Palazzo San Macuto in Rome, during which the results of the parliamentary commission's activity and the end-of-mandate report will be presented. And today the President of the Commission Andrea Romano explains: "Tomorrow we will vote on the final report of the Commission which for the first time will provide answers on what really happened that night". The explosive appraisal , he adds, "represents a small part of a more complex job ".

"Out of respect for the commissioners and family members - continues Romano - I do not intend to anticipate today what will be voted on tomorrow but I can say that we have done an important job that completed the already meritorious work of the previous Senate commission, which had highlighted what in reality is not had happened, such as the survival times on board , disproving the thesis that they were all dead within half an hour ".

The final resolution of the commission of inquiry, Romano concludes, " for the first time will tell what happened and will give a clear explanation of why the collision occurred : we did it thanks to a work that developed new reports and also testimonies that they allowed us to reconstruct the dynamics of the facts ".
