"Not to forget", once again this year the Municipality of Livorno, with the patronage of the Chamber of Deputies, has prepared a series of ceremonies and initiatives that will involve the families of the victims, the representatives of the institutions and the citizens.

The administration of the Municipality of Quartu has instead organized a ceremony at the Roman Villa of Sant'Andrea. The ceremony will end with the launch of 31 red roses into the sea, one for each year since the night of April 10, 1991.

THE FAMILIES OF THE VICTIMS - "Do not forget serves to keep the historical memory alive and to fight for truth and justice. The Moby Prince massacre has passed into collective memory as a trivial accident: the collision between a ferry and an oil tanker due to a sudden fog and other errors and it took 27 years to wipe out the putrid slime of prepackaged truths. " This was stated in a joint note by the families of the 140 victims.

"A first parliamentary commission was needed to overturn the procedural truths - write Luchino Chessa and Nicola Rosetti, presidents of the two victims' associations - and nothing but fog, other than distraction from the command of the ferry, other than sudden death of our loved ones. Truths arising from the first commission hurt even more because they highlighted the absolute lack of help and a life aboard the ferry of atrocious hours of suffering. Now everything changes, but some pieces of the intricate puzzle are still missing. We are confident of the work. which is carrying out the new Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry chaired by Andrea Romano. We would like to know at what point are the investigations that the Livorno Public Prosecutor's Office and the Florence Public Prosecutor's Office are investigating in total confidentiality, while we await the ruling of the case of the Court of Appeal of the Court of Florence which will have to express itself after May 8. We do not know if we will really have justice, but at least we would like to have a satisfying truth ".
