Police are conducting a fourth day of searches to locate Elena, the 21-year-old Romanian woman who has been missing since Monday, March 2, when a compatriot reported her missing to the Foggia police station. The woman and her friend arrived in Italy about three months ago. She initially worked as a farm laborer in the fields of the Foggia area, then, along with the friend who reported her missing, began prostituting herself in an area on the outskirts of Foggia along State Road 16, near Borgo La Rocca. Elena, reportedly, is an orphan and has no brothers or sisters. She and her friend live in an apartment on the outskirts of the capital of the Daunia region.

According to the reconstruction, on Monday morning they traveled together along Highway 16, as they always did, but by the time they returned, late in the morning, Elena had disappeared. Her friend attempted to contact her by phone without success, and then went to the police station to report her missing. On the evening of March 2nd, police found the cell phone along Highway 16.

He was seized and will be subjected to investigations. In the complaint, the friend also allegedly referred to several men who, in the weeks preceding her disappearance, had harassed them both. The search is ongoing nationwide. Firefighters are also on the scene, searching for her in ravines, farmhouses, and abandoned ruins.
