After the eviction of the former Astor hotel in Florence, the building from which little five-year-old Kataleya vanished into thin air, a new major inspection by the carabinieri started this morning. The presence of technicians from the Gis, the Special Intervention Group, is also expected. These are specialists who are experts in the use of high-tech technical equipment, also suitable for identifying crawl spaces or cavities in the walls. The hypothesis that the child may have remained inside has never been completely set aside.

The squatters were removed: 132 people, including 42 minors who, like Kata, lived in a structure that had become dilapidated and dangerous. They are Peruvian and Romanian. Many families, many women. They were placed elsewhere by the municipality.

Yesterday the mayor Dario Nardella also arrived at the Astor, who had already been there on Sunday 11 June.
