There is controversy over Milan's air quality data. According to the ranking of the Swiss company IqAir, the Milanese metropolis is currently the third most polluted city in the world, immediately after Chinese and Indian cities.

Mayor Giuseppe Sala doesn't agree and talks about an unreliable study. However, the exceeding of the limits set for pollution is also noted by ARPA, the regional agency for environmental protection, so much so that first level anti-smog measures will be implemented tomorrow in the city and seven other provinces of Lombardy.

The controversy, however, arises from the ranking of the Swiss company which measures air quality "live" and puts Milan on the podium as one of the worst: it is "unhealthy", preceded only by Chengdu in China and Dacca in Bangladesh. In fourth place , therefore slightly better than Milan, there is Delhi in India.

The data of the Swiss company, which develops products for monitoring air quality and cleaning the air, have been reported by many media and shared on social media but it is Mayor Giuseppe who is arguing about this type of ranking Room.

«These are impromptu revelations made by a private body, I am also annoyed at having to answer questions on issues that don't exist», says the mayor arguing with the journalist who asked him about the ranking, «We are working to improve the air , Arpa says it has improved although I maintain that it is not enough. We are talking about serious things and this is not a serious thing", he concludes underlining that "this is social media news".
