On the ship Humanity 1 arrived in Bari for the disembarkation, after the green light from Italy , of 261 migrants rescued at sea in recent days, there are people with clear signs of torture . There are no sick or seriously injured people but many still need medical attention.

Many migrants have been sexually abused or suffered burns from the mixture of petrol and salt water. Others have PTSD.

On board there are 40 women (three of whom are pregnant), 28 adults and 12 minors . In total there are 93 minors, 67 of whom are unaccompanied; 23 children under 14, three infants . Many of the migrants come from Cameroon, Egypt, Syria, Ivory Coast.

The reception machine, coordinated by the Prefecture of Bari, is ready for disembarkation, health care and identification operations . Questura, Guardia di Finanza, Carabinieri and local police, with 118, Asl, Usmaf, Red Cross and Caritas are preparing the activities. The first to disembark will be migrants in need of care. Then it will be the turn of unaccompanied minors and families with children. They will be subjected to a swab and then to other health checks. Photo identification will take place inside the cruise terminal. Then on board the bus the migrants will leave the port and will be distributed in various reception centers in Italy. Unaccompanied minors and a few other migrants will remain in Puglia.
