The fatal stab was delivered by a boy who was 17 years and 10 months old at the time , born in Melzo and of North African origin, brother of a 15-year-old who also took part in the fight: "He looked like a tiger - said a witness -, with a leap he reached Simone. He grabbed him in the head and with the right hand in which he had a knife hit him at the height of the ribs on his left side. At that moment he unleashed only one blow while remaining attacked with the blade stuck ”.

Immediately after the attack, the boy, as some witnesses put it on the record, was "absolutely calm and euphoric indeed". "I think I stabbed someone", he would have said to his brother, far from desperate, indeed, "bold" .
