Crime suspect Domenico Livrieri , the 46-year-old neighbor of Marta Di Nardo, the 60-year-old who disappeared in Milan for two weeks and whose body was found yesterday hidden in the man's apartment, was arrested.

The body had been torn to pieces and was in an advanced state of decomposition.

Livrieri confessed: "I didn't want to, I'm sorry," he said. He killed Marta with a slash to the neck, then cut the body into pieces ("I did it all by myself") with a kitchen knife, wrapped it in a blanket and hid it in his apartment.

According to what was announced this morning by the police, the 46-year-old, who has drug addiction problems and had some sort of relationship with the victim , has various precedents.

The police explain that some of the woman's personal effects were found in the home of the alleged murderer and "traces of the man's presence inside Di Nardo's home emerged in a period following her disappearance".
