Massive operation by the Carabinieri of the Gioia Tauro Company , who discovered and seized almost 80 kilos of marijuana and 15 kilos of fireworks . One person was arrested.

The drugs were discovered during a search inside a property attributable to the person under arrest by the Company's soldiers with the support of the "Calabria" Hunters squadron and the canine units of Vibo Valentia. During the targeted check, in fact, the narcotic substance divided into 70 bags was found inside a barrel buried at a depth of about one meter. The arrest order and the seizure of the large quantity of narcotic substance, according to the Carabinieri, "allowed us to dismantle an important drug dealing channel in the area".

During the same investigative activity, the military also reported another individual at large for illegal possession of pyrotechnic material. In fact, inside the commercial activity managed by the man, 23 boxes containing fireworks were discovered, for a total weight of about 15 kilos. Furthermore, in his home, a secret room was identified, hidden behind a wall of the bathroom and accessible only by moving some tiles. During the search, an ingenious mechanism was discovered that allowed the room to be sealed from the inside.
