An attempted kidnapping of a minor occurred near the Perugia train station: the mother first chased and then stopped the man who had stolen her child, who was later arrested by the police.

The incident was reconstructed in a statement from investigators. Police responded to a call to the emergency number near the Fontivegge train station, where an attempted kidnapping of a five-year-old girl had been reported. They arrested a 29-year-old foreigner with numerous criminal records and now charged with aggravated attempted kidnapping.

The minor's mother, who was waiting for the bus, reported that the man approached her and, for no apparent reason, grabbed her daughter and tried to run away. The woman then chased him and managed to catch the terrified girl and contact the police.

Despite this, the foreigner—according to investigators' reconstruction—continued to molest the minor, photographing her with his cell phone. He was taken to the police station, where investigations, including footage from video surveillance systems, confirmed the victim's report. The man was subsequently arrested for attempted aggravated kidnapping and held in the Perugia prison at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
