Luca Orlandi has been barricaded for almost two days now, in his home in Cordovado (Pordenone). A channel of dialogue was opened up between the 55-year-old engineer and the carabinieri negotiators late yesterday afternoon.

The man would therefore no longer be limited to posting videos on his YouTube channel, but would also have started an interlocution with the specialists of the Arma. And this morning he handed over the weapons he held, allowing them to enter the house.

"I love life, I love life very much, I say it and I repeat it: you have to lead me to the insane gesture, you have to work hard, however, because I am extremely physically and mentally stable", he said yesterday, addressing the negotiator with whom he still hadn't agreed to talk on the phone. Previously, the engineer - who for two and a half years had lived a self-contained life at home after being a valued company consultant - had also disclosed a circumstance concerning weapons which are at the heart of his refusal to surrender to the authorities, not wanting the carabinieri to proceed with their seizure. «I had offered some time ago, with the presentation of the complaint to the judiciary, for the attack with the rottweiler, on April 24, 2021, if I remember correctly, to deliver them to the carabinieri station so that no one would use them as a pretext against me. I was told it was impracticable."

Meanwhile, the inhabitants of the town are living in a difficult situation: many are forced to sleep in hotels, the area has been isolated.
