The Milan City Council has approved the resolution regarding the appeal against naming Malpensa airport after Silvio Berlusconi, which will be pursued together with other municipalities.

After the resolution has been approved by the other interested Municipalities, the appeal will be filed with the TAR, perhaps next week.

"We have joined the appeal like other Municipalities - explained Mayor Giuseppe Sala, on the sidelines of the opening event of Green Week - I confirm that we are associated with the appeal, as for the timing I don't know anything yet".

The dedication to the former prime minister who passed away in June 2023 was announced by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, chaired by Matteo Salvini , last July: "With immediate effect".

And today the League's response is immediate : "Milan is now among the most unsafe cities in Italy - we read in a note - for years it has not found a solution for the new stadium and even lost the 2027 Champions League final, making an international fool of itself, in addition it has decided to tax and penalize citizens who cannot afford a means of transport - two or four wheels - latest model. And yet the priority of Giuseppe Sala and his Council is to cancel the dedication of Malpensa airport to a great Milanese like Silvio Berlusconi. Long live Milan that looks to the future and has no time to waste".
