Maxi seizure of 100 million euros as part of an anti-mafia operation.
In the Messina area, the assets and properties of the entrepreneur Giuseppe Busacca, king of the assistance cooperatives for the elderly and disabled in the province, were seized and frozen. The accusation is of having reinvested illicit money coming from the Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto mafia clan.
The provision, issued by the prevention measures section of the Messina Court, at the request of the Prosecutor Maurizio De Lucia and the Quaestor, concerns various social cooperatives and agricultural-wildlife companies, public entertainment venues, hotels, properties.
The operation, called Hera, was carried out by the State Police and the District Anti-Mafia Directorate with the Anticrime Division of the Messina Police Headquarters and the Central Anticrime Service "in the context - reads a note - of a broader contrast strategy launched by the Central Anti-Crime Directorate ".
