Liliana Resinovich "highly likely" died "on the morning of December 14, 2021 within four hours of breakfast." This was established by the medical-legal report of the pathologist Cristina Cattaneo and Vanin, Tambuzzi and Leone, appointed by the Prosecutor's Office. The time slot therefore within which the alleged murder occurred, given that the woman had breakfast around 8/8:30, ends around 12, as the newspaper Il Piccolo anticipated today. Therefore, investigators are trying to reconstruct the movements of the woman, last seen at 8:50, filmed by the video camera of a bus while crossing Piazzale Gioberti.

According to the experts, once killed, Liliana's body would have been in the fetal position "since the death event" or would have been there "positioned shortly after, approximately no more than 6-10 hours on average". In fact, for the consultants "no technical element emerged that contrasts with the fact that the woman's body always remained in the same place where it was later found" . This is demonstrated by "the meteorological, entomological and botanical evidence" which appear "particularly in harmony with this scenario". The experts in fact considering that in the grove where the body was found on January 5, 2022 the temperature remained around 5 degrees practically for the entire period from Liliana's disappearance until her discovery, also through comparisons with the case history of the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Milan. In short, as had been anticipated first by rumors and then by the conclusions of the expert report, the report, in addition to speaking of murder and of a body that was never transported or frozen, also gives indications for the continuation of the investigations.

On the one hand, a purely investigative indication: the reconstruction of Liliana's movements immediately after leaving home; on the other, a genetic investigation linked to the possible involvement of third parties. For example, the examination of the clothing and the flotation of the bags that contained the head, and of the hair and pubic hair have returned 15 hair formations collected from clothing, from the flotation of the plastic bags, from the flotation of the pubic hair. Through new ultramassive sequencing technologies (Ngs) it would be possible to reach important discoveries. Also because there are two other hair formations sampled by the Scientific Police and possible residual extracts from genetic investigations on cord, external bags and other evidence already examined to search for the presence of third-party DNA. Liliana, who was wearing the same clothes as the day she disappeared when she was found, could only have been killed due to the injuries she showed.

How? "By means of direct external suffocation (concurrent with or immediately after the application of a contusive lesion to the face and other parts of the body)". Probably the result of simultaneous "scuffling and external suffocation with a hand or soft object or bag on the face; scuffle quickly followed by external asphyxiation". With the "loss of consciousness due to external suffocation (or brain lesions)" death would have occurred with the "application of the bags to the head at a later (close) moment by third parties". One could object that despite a struggle the clothes worn were composed, but this, the experts warn, "is entirely consistent with the extent of the contusive lesions and therefore with slight or medium-level tugging, hitting, pushing and aggression, sufficient however to lead to death due to the final asphyxial maneuver".
