The judges of the sixth collegiate section of Rome have acquitted all nine defendants involved in the proceedings relating to the preventive settlement of the daily newspaper L'Unità, founded by Antonio Gramsci.

The judges of Piazzale Clodio dropped the charges, with the full formula, "because the fact does not exist" also for Renato Soru. The primary charge was bankruptcy due to distraction and dissipation. Soru, defended by the lawyer Fabio Pili, appeared in the proceedings for his role as partner played from 2008 to 2015 in relation to the management of the newspaper. The judges accepted the request for acquittal advanced by the prosecutors.

Same verdict for the other Sardinians involved: Carlo Ghiani (defended by Pili and Giuseppe Macciotta), Edoardo Bene (lawyer Patrizio Alecce) and Fabrizio Meli (lawyer Astolfo Di Amato).

The reasons for the sentence will be filed within 60 days.
