Life imprisonment. It is the sentence inflicted on a 37-year-old man, Antonio Martone, for killing his brother Domenico with the aim of collecting the premium on some insurance policies.

The sentence was issued by the Assize Court of Naples.

The murder dates back to March 30, 2022. According to the investigators' reconstruction, Antonio Martone burned his brother Domenico, whose semi-charred corpse was found on a country road. For the prosecutor, the searches he carried out on Google as early as 2021 and up to the week following the crime also confirmed the murderer's will.

These include "life insurance in case of murder", but also "kill without suspicion" and "how long does insurance take to pay out".

After the murder, however, the man did other searches online, namely: "where is the death certificate obtained" and "why when a person is dead the fire is not lit", since Domenico's body was charred only for half.

In his indictment, the public prosecutor of the Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office Emilio Prisco, requesting life imprisonment, defined the behavior of the accused "like that of Cain with Abel", underlining that Antonio Martone "never showed signs of repentance nor sketched a confession."
