A fight and brawl between two young people this morning in Certaldo, in the province of Florence, during the funeral of Maati Moubakir, the 17-year-old killed on December 29 in Campi Bisenzio.
According to what was learned, the two exchanged insults and abuse in front of the church, then they fought and were stopped by the police. It also seems that one of the two young men pulled out a knife. There are no reports of injuries. The two were identified by the police. "Son of a b... - some of Maati's friends shouted at the armed young man - you came to the funeral with a knife after what happened!"
The crime
"I didn't do anything, it wasn't me." These are the words that Maati Moubakir shouted at the pack that was chasing him before being killed on the evening of December 29 in Campi Bisenzio while he was trying to catch a bus. The sentences, reported on the online page of the Corriere Fiorentino, were recorded by the cameras of the bus where the young man tried to take refuge while being chased by those who then killed him and left him on the ground. A few days ago three young men were arrested for the murder of the boy: Denis Mehmeti, a 20-year-old from Prato, Ismail Arouii, a 22-year-old from Florence and Francesco Pratesi, an 18-year-old from Florence accused of murder aggravated by futile motives and cruelty.
According to investigators, it was the three of them who struck Maati with two different weapons, first with two stabs to the back - as confirmed by the autopsy - while Maati was trying to escape. A third stab wound hit him in the eyebrow and the last two to the heart, when the group forced him to get off the bus where Maati was hoping to have found refuge and finished him off in the street. The stab wounds to the back, again according to the autopsy results, injured him in a kidney and near the spine. Grazes and bruises were also found throughout the body, the result of the beating with clubs, helmets, punches and kicks before the stab wounds .
It is still unclear what exactly happened that evening: perhaps too much appreciation for a girl, perhaps old disagreements between people from different groups, perhaps an attack on one of the young people who will later be investigated. But it seems that the victim had nothing to do with all this. All three arrested, questioned, denied the accusation of having stabbed Maati.
