He allegedly abused a 33-year-old woman he met via social media on several occasions and then, with the help of an accomplice, attempted to extort money from her. For this reason, a 31-year-old Moroccan was arrested by the Carabinieri of Montecatini (Pistoia).

The man, seeking international protection, had agreed with the victim, a 33-year-old compatriot, to spend an evening together.

After having consummated the violence in the 31-year-old's home in the Pistoiese area, where the woman was allegedly prevented from leaving.

The 33-year-old then fled the next day when she was taken by her accomplice, a 35-year-old Italian, to withdraw money from the ATM.
