An investigation by the Guardia di Finanza, Special Unit for Goods and Services, in collaboration with the Italian Federation of Newspaper Publishers (Fieg) made it possible to discover numerous Telegram, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter channels through which newspapers, weekly and monthly newspapers were illegally disseminated. and specialized magazines with over 500 thousand readers.

32 are the channels seized by the investigating judge of the court of Rome.

The investigation to combat computer piracy, which steals resources from publishing houses and damages the sale of digital products, started in December and is called "Black Screen".

Le Fiamme Gialle remind readers who use these illicit channels that, in addition to the risk of incurring penalties, they expose themselves to the concrete possibility of suffering the theft of their data through phishing: as a counterpart to reading newspapers for free, some channels highlight links that redirect to commercial offers at particularly advantageous prices or free registration to digital services. By using these links, however, the user can make their personal and financial data available to criminals or activate unsolicited paid services.
