In 2001 he was just 17 years old and was the protagonist of one of the most dramatic crime cases in our country. The case of the sweethearts from Novi Ligure, Omar Favaro and Erika De Nardo, the two minors who on the evening of February 21, 2001 killed Susy Cassini and Gianluca De Nardo, mother and younger brother of Erika, with almost 100 stab wounds and an unprecedented ferocity .

Now, 23 years later, a new accusation weighs on Omar. And he is close to being sent to trial for domestic abuse .

Favaro is accused of physical and psychological violence against his wife and daughter, facts which date back to the period between 2019 and 2021. Repeated death threats, to disfigure her with acid or reduce her to a wheelchair, beatings . Also sexual violence and economic control of the woman, who was forbidden to leave the house .

The investigators had asked for him to be banned from approaching the victims, but the accusations gradually became more and more serious. The Ivrea Prosecutor's Office has closed the investigation and the hearing for the indictment will soon take place.

He, who is now 40 years old (41 in May), denies all the accusations and fights to obtain custody of his daughter . But the evidence collected by the investigators is very clear: there is talk of a climate of terror in the family, of a mania for control, insults, threats, even episodes of sexual violence and objects thrown at the victim.
