Hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver: the 42-year-old's body was found in a ditch at the side of the road.

A 42-year-old woman died last night after being hit by a hit-and-run driver in Calvagese della Riviera, in the province of Brescia. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m.

According to initial reports, the victim was walking on the shoulder of the road when a car struck her, knocking her into a ditch. The driver did not stop to provide assistance and fled the scene.

A passing motorist who noticed the body raised the alarm. The Salò traffic police, firefighters, and paramedics were on the scene.

Investigations are underway to identify the person responsible.
