Carlo Fumagalli, the 49-year-old worker who killed his partner and mother of their children Romina Vento , 44 , was sentenced to 22 years on April 19, 2022.

The sentence was issued this morning by the Court of Assizes of Bergamo presided over by judge Giovanni Petillo. Prosecutor Carmen Santoro had asked for 22 years in prison for the worker born in Vaprio d'Adda (Milan) : the deputy prosecutor had equated the aggravating circumstance of the relationship of cohabitation to generic extenuating circumstances.

The defendant was present in the courtroom, but also Romina Vento's mother and brother , who filed civil suits like the couple's two minor children, and some of Fumagalli's family members, including the eldest son (born from a previous relationship) and the elderly mother.

Fumagalli, that April 2022, first sent the car off the road in the Adda, then drowned Vento holding her head under water.
