«Hello 112? My mother is sick, but I have no money for medicine. Please help me."
It is the call received by the Operations Center of the Carabinieri Company of Reggio Calabria on New Year's Eve.
A heartfelt request for help from a man struggling with financial difficulties and unable to purchase the drugs regularly prescribed for his mother with health problems.
The Command therefore sent a patrol to the family's home and, once on site, the military ascertained the state of poverty and hardship of the man and his mother.
And so the same men from the Army went to the nearest pharmacy, bought the woman's necessary medicines from their own pocket and also some foodstuffs, then delivered them to the family.
In return, a big thank you from mother and son for the solidarity and closeness shown.
