He takes a bath and drowns at 12 years old: no autopsy for the boy who died during a dive with friends

Friends, the sea and then the darkness. A dive with my peers on the first Saturday of summer from the pier in Falconara Marittima (Ancona) was fatal for little Abdou, 12 years old , of Nigerian origin but Italian by birth.

The desperate screams of the children , perhaps already aware of the tragedy, attracted the attention of the lifeguards of the nearby beaches , who immediately rushed to drag the body out of the water from under the former Bedetti Platform. Meanwhile, the 118 air ambulance was already in the air , having left from the regional hospital of Torrette di Ancona, which lowered a doctor onto the beach with the winch. The attempt, repeated several times, for almost 20 minutes, to get his heart beating again was in vain.

And the arrival of the SAR CP 861 naval unit of the Coast Guard, and a patrol engaged in the activity of safe seas and lakes, could only note what had happened.

Silence has fallen on Falconara marittima, less than 26 thousand inhabitants, a town on the Marche coast. And silence envelops the whole city.

This was requested by the mayor, Stefania Signorini, who was among the first to arrive on site with the municipal police officers, who decided on the city's mourning and stopped all the day's events yesterday.

A mourning that also overwhelmed the school Abdou attended, the Raffaello Sanzio Comprehensive Institute, on whose web portal a black ribbon appeared, and with dismay the condolences for the family.

There will be no investigations , what happened is tragically clear . Prosecutor Ruggiero Dicuonzo has already returned the body to the family and there will be no autopsy .
