Introducing himself as "Marshal Volpe" and telling the classic lie about his daughter being the victim of a road accident, he managed to extort 500,000 euros in cash and valuables from a 75-year-old Cremonese woman.

The scammer, a 40-year-old Neapolitan, was arrested by police officers from Cremona and Naples.

The facts date back to last September 18th: the man had telephoned the woman to tell her that her daughter had been involved in a serious accident and that for the legal costs it was necessary for her to hand over the money and jewels she had to a lawyer who would arrive in briefly to his house.

Only after giving him everything, the victim contacted his daughter and discovered that he had been the victim of a scam. The Cremona Mobile agents went to Naples, where after 24 hours of searches, with the collaboration of Neapolitan investigators, they managed to track down and arrest the 40-year-old.

The arrested person was also notified of the mandatory deportation order with a ban on returning to Cremona for four years, a prevention measure issued by the police commissioner and modified by the Caivano Decree, which increased the maximum term of the ban.
