He was waiting for the accomplices in a car robbery when the carabinieri saw him and blocked his escape with pistols.
The man is now in hospital in serious condition.
According to an initial reconstruction by the carabinieri, it was the "stake" of a gang that was robbing a house in Castelletto Ticino, in the province of Novara.
Upon the arrival of a military patrol, he left at full speed with the large-displacement car, ramming the vehicle of the carabinieri, who fired a few gunshots to stop him. At that point, the man got out of the damaged car, to escape on foot, but injured he was blocked.
Now he is hospitalized in intensive care at the Novara hospital with a reserved prognosis. The accomplices, two or three, managed to lose their tracks. Research is underway throughout the upper Novara area and neighboring Lombardy.
