He hid the body of his mother, who died at the age of 90, in a chest to collect his pension.

Shocking discovery inside a villa in Paderno Dugnano, in the Milanese area. The old woman's corpse was mummified, closed in a huge cellophane wrapper and kept in a chest closed with duct tape.

The carabinieri arrived following the death of her daughter, a 64-year-old woman who had hidden the body for a long time to continue collecting her mother's pension. The military entered the apartment, full of objects and in precarious hygienic conditions, they first discovered the body of the 64-year-old.

By asking the neighbors for information, they learned that the woman had a mother who lived with her until a few months ago, before "disappearing". Taken to a rest home in Veneto, the daughter had said. But the carabinieri, once it was ascertained that the old woman was not in any similar structure, decided to carry out a second inspection of the house in Paderno, noting the chest and the mummified corpse of the ninety-year-old.

The monthly pension check was still credited to the 90-year-old's account, which was never closed, and to which her daughter had access.
