He dies of asphyxiation in the house fire: it was a neighbor who found him

Asphyxiated by the smoke that developed in his home. Thus died Daniele Ballardini, 57 years old. The tragedy occurred in Mandriole, in the province of Ravenna.

The house was seized and the prosecutor on duty opened a file for manslaughter against unknown persons.

A neighbor, a boy who had gone out to throw the garbage, noticed the smoke. He opened the apartment door and found Ballardini already unconscious, perhaps he had been surprised by the fire in his sleep. Together with other people he took him out but the 118 emergency services were useless.

According to the first hypotheses, the flames could have started from a room used as a closet-boiler. The 57-year-old, separated, lived alone. Leave two daughters.
