A call to 112 that could have saved Giulia Cecchettin's life, but was ignored.

The Public Prosecutor's Office of Venice has decided to acquire the phone call of the witness who, on the evening of November 11th, called 112 to report a dispute in the Vigonovo car park (Venice).

After the report, it was established that no patrol reached the scene of the dispute . But according to what we learn, the witness, a neighbor of the victim, would not have been able to give precise information : he would have mentioned a "dark-coloured" car without further clarification, so the police would not have believed intervention is appropriate.

Right there, near the victim's house, Filippo stabbed Giulia for the first time . Traces of blood and a 21 centimeter kitchen knife without a handle were found at the scene. After stabbing her, the 22-year-old immobilized her and forcibly dragged her to the car and in a few minutes he reached the industrial area of Fossò, 6 km away, where he killed her while she desperately tried to escape.

The next day Giulia's father filed a missing person's report, the rest of the story is sadly known: from the searches to the discovery of the body, up to the arrest of Filippo Turetta on a motorway near Leipzig.
