Tragedy in Piacenza. A six-year-old girl, Maria Isabela Lisaru, died of complications from a flu virus.

The girl, born in Italy to a family of Romanian origin, died in the night between Friday and Saturday from fulminant myocarditis , a complication that occurred after contracting type B influenza .

Maria Isabela had been showing flu symptoms for days that got worse . On Friday afternoon, the newspaper Libertà reconstructs, she was taken to the pediatric emergency room where she was transferred to the Niguarda hospital in Milan . But every attempt was in vain.

The little girl was supposed to perform yesterday with her school choir. "As mayor and above all as a mother, I embrace mum and dad with all the love I have," said the mayor of Piacenza Katia Tarasconi.
