Retired teacher shot dead, neighbor (and cousin) arrested

The Carabinieri of the Bologna investigative unit carried out a precautionary custody order under house arrest against the alleged perpetrator of the murder of Natalia Chinni, the 72-year-old retired English teacher found dead in her home in Santa Maria Villiana di Gaggio Montano, killed by shots from a 12-gauge shotgun.
It is a neighbor and cousin of the victim, on whom the investigations, coordinated by prosecutor Antonello Gustapane, had already focused. The man, a former hunter, denies any accusation. In the past he had argued with the victim over neighborhood issues, which also ended up in court.
The body was found on 29 October: a few days later ammunition was found in the Rhine, considered relevant by investigators.
