Flavio Farris has been bedridden for about ten years due to the evolution of the disease he suffers from, ALS. After the diagnosis arrived, the mother of the man, born in Nuoro, died and the father moved to Sardinia. Farris therefore has no family network and lives in his home in Finale Emilia (Modena) together with three assistants who "look after me, take care of me, wash me, feed me, I'm like a newborn baby who needs everything", reads the collection on Gofundme launched by its support administrator with a specific purpose. In fact, Marina Mercurio explains: «She keeps repeating to me that she prefers assisted death rather than returning to an RSA».

Flavio can only move his eyes and it is with those that he can communicate.

"My terror - continues Farris - is that I will no longer be able to pay the assistants because unfortunately my finances are running low and I don't have much time, I will soon be forced to drop everything because I don't want to go to the RSA to die, rather I will ask for assisted death, I will suffer without suffering further, the cursed ALS is enough ».

«This beast - adds the man - attacked me when I was only 33 years old and immediately after the diagnosis my mother died of fulminant leukemia and my father moved to Sardinia creating a new family, for him I no longer exist. For the few years that I have left to live, I would like to spend them in the most serene way possible at home with my carers, even if ALS does not leave you for a moment, please help me and I will be forever grateful to you".
