Former footballer Emanuele "Lele" Panizza, 58, died in a house fire in Valmadonna, a suburb of Alessandria.

Defender, he played with the Piedmontese Grays for five seasons, from '83 to '88. But also with Juve Domo, Aosta and Valenzana. He had also worn the shirt of La Palma, in Cagliari, the glorious year of C2 in the 89-90 season, with Bernardo Mereu as coach.

The memory of the player is entrusted to a communication from Alessandria, which currently plays in Serie C: «Wearing our colors is not for everyone, we know that. You were amply worthy of it. Hi Lele."
