The composer and conductor Leandro Piccioni , authoritative signature of many film music and Morricone's pianist , has died . In 2020 he won the David di Donatello for the soundtrack of "The Magic Flute of Piazza Vittorio" , of which he is co-author of Mozart's elaborations and author of the original music.

The collaboration with Ennio Morricone began in 2001 . He also orchestrated the music for the film Let's lose Johnny by Fabrizio Bentivoglio with the nomination for the David di Donatello Award 2008 for the song "Amore Fermati". Among the most important collaborations those with Carmelo Bene, Mario Martone, and Avion Travel stand out. With his arrangements he conducted the Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra at the concert in Piazza San Giovanni on May 1st 2011, at the Christmas event at the Fori Imperiali in Rome on April 21st 2012 and at the Bruce Springsteen concert at the Capannelle Hippodrome of the 11 July 2013.
