Gianni Clerici , former Italian tennis player , journalist and writer, died.
Considered one of the greatest tennis experts in the world, and historical signature of "Repubblica", he was 91 years old . The announcement of the death came in a tweet from the former director of the Republic Mario Calabresi .
"A giant of sports journalism - the memory of Calabresi - had elegance, competence and knew how to explain everything".
"One day he took me with him to Wimbledon - continues Calabresi - and taught me that the real show was the picnics on the grass with strawberries and cream. Have a good trip Maestro".
Born on July 24, 1930, Clerici died in Bellagio , on Lake Como, where he resided.
