Alessandro Antonicelli, 26, an influencer and bodybuilder known on social media as Pettor_Ale, died on December 6th. He had been battling chondroblastic osteosarcoma, an extremely rare bone cancer that affects only two in a million people, for two years. His battle, which he shared day after day with his 177,000 followers, ended, leaving a profound void among friends, family, and fans.
Alessandro has never hidden anything about his illness. On Instagram, he shared every stage of his life and treatment, from moments of hope to sudden deteriorations.
Just a week ago, upon returning from a trip to Japan, he wrote: "The disease is now out of control. I left still walking, and when I returned I couldn't stand without crutches. The pain exploded at home, and I was rushed to the hospital."
The post announcing his passing reads: "Today the world feels a little emptier: Ale has flown away, free from pain, finding the peace he deserved. We know how much you loved and supported him, but now we ask you to protect his family, girlfriend, and friends during this painful time."
The message continues by emphasizing the desire to carry on Alessandro's project, “Fuck Cancer,” an initiative he deeply cared about and that the family will continue to carry forward.
Alessandro discovered the disease two years ago, after experiencing persistent knee pain and chronic fatigue. In a post shared on August 10, 2023, he said: "Just after I had time to celebrate my graduation, passing the master's degree entrance exam, and moving to Milan, at the highest point of my life, the bad news arrived. I don't know what awaits me, but I know I'm strong, thanks also to your support, and I won't let this defeat me."
Until the end, Alessandro wanted to share his life without filters: gym, travel, hospitals, fears. His words, today, remain a message of strength: "If the way I'm facing this battle can give strength to even just one person, then all this pain makes sense. I can't promise you everything will be okay, but as long as I'm here, I'll remain myself: sincere, stubborn, with a zest for life that never gives up."
