Alvise and Ludovica Casellati, children of the Minister of Institutional Reforms, are under investigation for tax evasion on charges of using false invoices.

Corriere della Sera writes this, according to which the notice of conclusion of the investigations was notified in recent days by the Milan Prosecutor's Office.

In particular, the accusation concerns a total value of less than 15,000 euros considered to be "fictitious passive elements".

The investigation revolves around the activity of the financial promoter Domenico Angiolella - accused of abusive financial intermediation - and his wife.

The invoices in question, recommended by Angiolella, were used by the two sons of the former president of the Senate, now Minister for Reforms, in the 2022 and 2023 VAT returns to fiscally "discharge" the costs paid to the same promoter for the their manager with his company, and instead made himself appear - reconstructs the Milanese newspaper - as remuneration for his "search for sponsors" for the sole proprietorship of his lawyer son's firm and for his daughter's software company.

The Casellati family claims, on the contrary, to have lost almost all the savings that Angiolella allegedly defrauded her children and the minister (not investigated) denies ever having had any idea of the false invoices.

The defender of Casellati's children, Ernesto De Toni, explained that, «after having learned the situation from the documents received a few days ago, they immediately took steps to remedy with the Revenue Agency the tax violations of modest amounts that were contested against them» and that "they will soon go to the Prosecutor's Office to explain the relationship with Angiolella".

The lawyer reiterated that the minister "had no role in the affair, the interest of the false financial promoter in involving her for his own illicit purposes was evident", given that "from the documents Angiolella appears to have defrauded hundreds of people for very significant sums ».

Angiolella's defender, Alessandro Brustia, explained that no one ever filed the complaint necessary to make the possible fraud prosecuted, a crime not in fact contested by the prosecutors.

On this point, the lawyer for Casellati's children announced that "reports are being prepared".
