Three dead, four missing and five seriously injured.

This is, at the moment, the balance of the tragedy that occurred yesterday at the Enel power plant on Lake Suviana , in the Bologna Apennines.

A file has been opened on the case by the Bologna Prosecutor's Office: negligent disaster and manslaughter are the hypothesized crimes , the investigation is coordinated by the prosecutor Flavio Lazzarini and the chief prosecutor Giuseppe Amato.

According to initial reconstructions, a turbine of the plant exploded on the -8 floor and the collapse overwhelmed at least 12 technicians from external companies present on site for some adaptation work on the power plant.

The three victims have been identified: they are Pavel Petronel Tanase, 45 years old, born in Romania, but resident in Settimo Torinese, Mario Pisano, 73 years old born in Taranto, and Vincenzo Franchina, 36 years old, from Sinagra (Messina).

The tremendous explosion was felt even from a long distance away. "We heard a tremendous roar , then the air became unbreathable," reported witnesses present in the area at the time of the explosion.

"An impressive disaster," the first responders said instead.

The search for the four missing people continues unabated, among the rubble and underwater. And investigations are also continuing to clarify what caused the explosion.

The incident aroused emotion and condolences, including from the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, who expressed closeness to the families of the workers overwhelmed by the explosion and hoped that "full light will be shed on the matter".
