Nazim Mordjane, the 32-year-old prisoner who escaped last September 21st from the San Paolo hospital in Milan during a daring escape during which a Penitentiary officer who was chasing him was seriously injured (he remained in a coma for 10 days) was captured at 2 pm today near Geneva, Switzerland.

This was confirmed in a note by the Central Investigative Unit - Milan Regional Unit of the Penitentiary Police, which operated "in collaboration with the International Police Cooperation service of the Central Directorate of the Criminal Police, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Milan".

«Following careful tracing relating to the subject's movements on the Milanese territory, it was ascertained that he had trespassed into Swiss territory on the border with France», continues the note, «further investigative investigations found with a wide margin of certainty that he was near the city of Geneva. The rapid localization was possible thanks to the synergistic collaboration between the Regional Investigation Unit of the Penitentiary Police of Milan and the Service for International Police Cooperation: today's operation once again underlines the effectiveness of the collaboration between the investigative offices".
