"Individuals who represent a danger to the country's democracy." This is what the prosecutor of Milan Francesco De Tommasi wrote in the documents of the investigation into the group that stole data from politicians and influential people, fabricated dossiers and enjoyed "support in various environments, including that of the mafia and the secret services."
One of those arrested, Nunzio Samuele Calamucci, allegedly sent an email from an account "registered to Mattarella, with his name and surname".
Also targeted by the group were the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa and his son Geronimo.
From what we understand, the archives of the Viminale have been "hacked" 52 thousand times.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's comment on the affair was harsh: «In the worst case scenario, we are faced with the crime of subversion, no state governed by the rule of law can tolerate it».
The League instead proposes changes to the penal code to "increase penalties for spies".
